Preparing For Change

Global Commissioning Ready for Europe’s New Entry and Exit System.

The European Entry and Exit System (EES) has officially launched across Europe, changing how non-EU nationals travel into and out of the Schengen Area.

The new system replaces the traditional passport stamping process with digital verification. Travellers will now register their face, fingerprints, and passport details the first time they enter after the launch date. Once complete, this information will be securely stored for three years, making future crossings faster and more efficient.

At Global Commissioning, our international operations rely on seamless travel between project sites across Europe. We’ve prepared our teams for the transition, ensuring everyone is fully briefed and supported as the new system takes effect.

“This change is significant, but preparation keeps everything moving,” said Luke Foxley, Chief People Officer.

“We’ve planned ahead to make sure our people can continue travelling safely, efficiently, and without disruption to our clients.”

The EES will apply to all non-EU nationals, including those travelling on business or with a visa. It will be used across all major Schengen entry points, including airports, Eurostar hubs, and ferry terminals.
