Global Gives Back

Christmas Jumper Day & Giving Back This Winter at Global Commissioning

At Global Commissioning, winter isn’t just about wrapping up warm on site; it’s about showing up for the communities around us. This festive season, our teams across the UK and Europe came together to support two charity initiatives close to our hearts: a local gift drive supporting families in Kent, and a global Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser for Save the Children.

From Whitstable to Warsaw, Frankfurt to Milan, this winter reminded us that impact doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with a jumper, a gift, and a team willing to get involved.

Supporting Local Communities: The Global Gift Drive

Giving back starts close to home.

This year, our winter charity focus kicked off at our Whitstable office with our Global Gift Drive, supporting Riverside Church Whitstable and their brilliant All Wrapped Up campaign.

The All Wrapped Up initiative is designed to support families in need across Whitstable and Herne Bay, providing:

  • Christmas presents for children

  • Food vouchers for families

  • Festive treat bags to help make the season feel special

The goal is simple but powerful: no child should go without at Christmas.

Our team stepped up in the best way possible, donating gifts generously and taking the time to visit Riverside Church to see the campaign in action. Seeing first-hand how community-led initiatives make a real difference was a reminder of why local partnerships matter so much.

We’re incredibly grateful to Riverside Church Whitstable for welcoming us and for the work they do year-round to support local families. We’re proud to continue building partnerships with charities that create real, tangible impact where it’s needed most.

Christmas Jumper Day Goes Global

Alongside our local efforts, we challenged our teams across Europe to get festive for a good cause with Christmas Jumper Day.

The challenge was simple:

For every team photo shared of colleagues wearing a Christmas jumper, Global Commissioning would donate to Save the Children UK.

And safe to say, our teams did not hold back.

We received photos from across Europe, including:

  • Our Whitstable office team

  • Project teams in Poland, Italy, Zurich and Germany

A special shoutout goes to our Frankfurt team, who went all in with matching Christmas jumpers!

Our office team also delivered, with a full-on festive photoshoot that looked like it had been lifted straight from a 90s family Christmas card. Fireplace included!

What started as a bit of festive fun quickly turned into something bigger, teams connecting across borders, sharing a moment of joy, and collectively supporting a global children’s charity.

Why These Causes Matter to Us

As a data centre commissioning company operating across critical infrastructure environments, people are at the centre of everything we do - whether that’s our clients, our teams, or the communities we work within.

Supporting charities like Riverside Church Whitstable and Save the Children aligns with our wider commitment to:

  • Social responsibility

  • Community engagement

  • Looking beyond the project and thinking long-term

Winter can be a particularly challenging time for many families, both locally and globally. Being able to contribute – even in small but meaningful ways – is something we’re genuinely proud of.

How You Can Get Involved

If you’d like to support these causes this festive season:

Every contribution helps, whether that’s a gift, a donation, or simply spreading the word.

Looking Ahead

As we wrap up another year, we’re taking the same energy into 2026: continuing to support local charities, strengthening global initiatives, and finding ways for our teams to come together for causes that matter.

Christmas jumpers off, but the giving doesn’t stop here.

From all of us at Global Commissioning, thank you to our teams, partners, and charities who helped make this winter a little brighter.
